Exhibition character : An extension of public participation and public art in the daily life of the city
Exhibition composition : Different sections of the Biennale EcoMetro will be held:
 
1) the Public Relations Hall of the Biennale which will be presented on the inside and
outside of two subway trains of four cars;
2) "Origin of Life", changes the Gwangju Subway Car into an artistic space with the collaboration of the artists and 50 Korean citizens. The first car is composited Biennale Information Pavilion which filled with materials showing the history of Gwangju Biennale. And the 2nd, 3rd, 4th cars are joint pavilions of korean and foreign artists show their works based on the human, nature and environment.
3) " Intanglble Nature” specially curated to create the images of the disappearing nature will show works employing various living forms and natural scenes as their subjects. An ecological and cultural message through paintings and videos done by artists and the general public held in an exhibition space, Geumnamro 4ga station.
4) "The Toilet Project," as a kind of debut shows of young artists, this project aims for introducing new concepts on sp ace. The organizing committee will choose five participating groups all over the country. Each group will consist of an advisor and students from a domestic college of Arts and will take one of rest rooms placed at subway stations as the site for the project.
Exhibition theme
  An exhibition that delivers the Biennale to the region, to the center of the city, and to the public. The Biennale, seeking to vary its offerings, will invest the Gwangju Subway, which is celebrating its first year anniversary, with a decorative and unique cultural environment. It will be a festival of programs that encourages a large public participation, a Biennale that comes to you. The opening of the Biennale EcoMetro will precede the Biennale by one month, and, as such, will announce to the general public the opening of the Biennale.
