Situated in a courtyard in front of the
Biennale Hall, what is for the moment being used as a parking lot
will become a community park. Amusing Footsteps will present a space
for cultural pleasure, one in which the primary cultural production
will be the spectator as subject, the spectator as the key word for
this Fifth Biennale.
Amusing Footsteps will be a communications space, a meeting point,
and a bridge between the events of the Biennale and the public. Pleasure,
the surest and purist human feeling, will accompany the Biennale theme
and become a metaphor of the beginning and the end, from the installation
of sculptures to the amusing footsteps of dancers. The sculptures
will be people-friendly - visitors will be invited to sit on and use
them as artistic resting points. |
